Hints and Tips
Remember your run/walk/cycle event number.
Dress smart. Check out the weather forecast for the day and dress appropriately. Wearing nylon clothes will help your skin breath and materials with UV protection will protect your skin from the sun’s dangerous rays.
Dog owners are required to have water for their dog and a portable bowl for them to drink from if needed.
Wear a hat (you will still need sunscreen on your face) and long-sleeved shirt to protect your skin against the sun.
Apply a high factor waterproof and sweat-proof sunscreen that offers broad spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays (at least 30 SPF) before going out in the sun; even for short sun exposure (you can get a sunburn in as little as 15 minutes).
Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before heading out in the sun and reapply after two hours.
Wear a good pair of UV-blocking sunglasses to give your face more protection and help protect your eyes from the sun’s damaging rays, especially on the beach.
Stay hydrated.
Have fun!
